FLR supported Museo Civico Archeologico di Bologna for the new display of the Ripostiglio di San Francesco

The Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna's Civic Museums Sector has announced the completion of work on the new arrangement of the Ripostiglio di San Francesco in Room Xb, one of the rooms of the Etruscan Section most beloved by the public and of extraordinary scientific relevance for learning about the economic and social dynamics of ancient Etruscan Bologna.

With the aim of facilitating the understanding and enjoyment of the thousands of objects that make up this exceptional archaeological complex, the redevelopment work involved the revision of the lighting and exhibition system with the recovery of the nineteenth-century showcases, made more functional according to current exhibition standards while still intact in their original charm, and a consistent selection of the material on display compared to the previous exhibition order.

The new layout of Room Xb was also made possible thanks to the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region, as part of the 2019-2021 Plans of the former IBC now Cultural Heritage Sector, Fondazione Luigi Rovati and Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna.

The presentation of the new exhibit with a press preview visit will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 12 noon at the Museo Civico Archeologico, Via dell'Archiginnasio 2 in Bologna.
