To mark BookCity Milano 2026, the Fondazione Luigi Rovati presents a programme of talks exploring art, literature and history, featuring Edmund de Waal, Jan Brokken, Francesco Vezzoli, Laura Pepe and Dario Biagi.
Saturday 28 November, at 3 pm, Dario Biagi joins art historian Elena Pontiggia in conversation to mark the publication of Una bellezza che non sfiorisce. Vita di Cagnaccio di San Pietro, Johan & Levi. Drawing on documentary sources and new avenues of research, Biagi traces the life of an artist now recognised as a leading figure in Magic Realism. The book explores his painting, characterised by formal rigour and unsettling subject matter, alongside his personal struggles and the political isolation that stemmed from his opposition to Fascism.
Admission to the talks is free. Booking is recommended.
Tickets for the talks do not include admission to the Art Museum.
Recordings of the talks will be published on the Fondazione’s YouTube channel.
