Fondazione Luigi Rovati awarded at Expo 2025 Osaka with the Honorable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro International Award 2025
Fondazione Luigi Rovati, together with MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, has received an Honorable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro International Award 2025, one of the most prestigious design recognitions worldwide.
With this mention, ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale acknowledges the museum project of Fondazione Luigi Rovati within the international context of Expo 2025 Osaka, highlighting its design as a language capable of combining innovation and sustainability with an aesthetically engaging experience for visitors.
Promoted by ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale in collaboration with the General Commissioner for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, the Compasso d’Oro International Award is the international and thematic edition of the Compasso d’Oro Award, established in 1954 and recognized as the highest accolade in Italian design. This year, the award was presented at Expo 2025 Osaka to projects from around the world that best interpreted the Expo’s theme: “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, articulated across the areas Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives.
The Honorable Mention follows the Compasso d’Oro ADI Award bestowed in 2024 on Fondazione Luigi Rovati, together with MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, in the “Exhibition Design” category. Award-winning objects and projects will become part of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Collection, declared by the Italian Ministry of Culture to be of “exceptional artistic and historical interest”. They will be exhibited at the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka until October 13, 2025, and subsequently at the ADI Design Museum in Milan from December 9, 2025, to January 6, 2026.
