Lucio Rovati named Business Angel of the Year by the Investors Club

Lucio Rovati, CEO of Rottapharm Biotech and Honorary President of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati, has won the Business Angel of the Year Award, the most prestigious Italian recognition dedicated to angel investing. Organized by the Investors Club with the collaboration of leading players in the innovation ecosystem, the award aims to foster the growth of angel investing in Italy, highlighting the role of business angels in supporting startups and innovative entrepreneurs.

A physician and researcher, throughout his career Lucio Rovati has invested in numerous biotech startups in Italy, the USA, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain, supporting the advancement of research and innovation at an international level in the life sciences sector.

The award ceremony took place at the OGR in Turin, during the opening day of Italian Tech Week. The winner was chosen by a jury chaired by Carlo Tassi (recipient of the 2024 edition) and composed of leading figures in the Italian venture capital community, as well as numerous sector journalists.
