The Art Museum of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati is conceived as a place of knowledge, research, and experimentation.
Its permanent collection, consisting of extraordinary Etruscan artifacts, is set in dialogue with works from different periods and cultures, offering a visitor experience that interweaves archaeology, art, and contemporaneity.
The museum itinerary unfolds in the Hypogeum Level, where ancient works are displayed alongside pieces by modern and contemporary artists, including a ceramic work by Pablo Picasso inspired by the theme of the Etruscan symposium.
On the Noble Floor, the rooms host site-specific works commissioned by the Foundation and conceived to engage in dialogue with the Etruscan collections. An emblematic example is the encounter between an installation by Giulio Paolini and an Etruscan cippus from the 2nd century BC, symbolizing continuity between past and present.
Fondazione Luigi Rovati promotes a vision of culture that is accessible and inclusive, overcoming physical, cultural, and social barriers. In collaboration with professionals and associations, it develops tools and pathways that encourage the enjoyment of museum spaces and foster dialogue with the works.
The educational program enhances the uniqueness of the museum and is inspired by the Foundation’s founding principles: interdisciplinary, inclusive, and creative activities designed to stimulate students’ powers of observation, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. Through interdisciplinary and interactive experiences, each student becomes the protagonist of a journey that unites history, art, and imagination.
The educational programmes consist of guided tours and workshops designed to meet the needs of different school levels. The programmes allow visitors to deepen their knowledge of the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, offering a dynamic and interdisciplinary approach.
