Truth and illusions in Etruscan painting
12 March 2026 | 18:00 – 19:00
On the occasion of the exhibition THE OLYMPIC GAMES™. A 3000-Year History, Fondazione Luigi Rovati presents a series of talks dedicated to the values, histories, and multiple interpretations of the Olympic Games, from antiquity to the contemporary world.
The meeting features Francesco Roncalli and Maurizio Harari, both full members of the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Etruschi e Italici. Drawing on Francesco Roncalli’s volume Poesia che tace. Letture e congetture sulla pittura etrusca, the discussion explores the figurative language, meanings, and interpretations of Etruscan painting, starting from the Tomba delle Olimpiadi on display.
