The Fondazione Luigi Rovati hosts The Immense and the Invisible: Sound Imaginaries between Art and Science, an event that anticipates the 2025 European Researchers’ Night (ERN). The program, organized by MEET – Missions: Engagement and Education for Tomorrow and by Co.Science – Meet Research To Connect Science And Society (both projects funded by the European Union), is structured around two separate encounters, united by a common thread: the promotion of research, scientific outreach, and their connections with art. The lively narration of Elisabetta Maùti will accompany both performances.

In Science as Art: An Astronomical Journey with Melody on Time, Lorenzo Pizzuti, a young astrophysicist from the University of Milano-Bicocca, alternates reflections on the universe and outer space with stories of the starry sky and musical pieces, offering multidisciplinary connections between science, art, and culture.

Journey into the Virocosmos, Where Art Becomes Contagious – conceived by the Institute of Biophysics of the National Research Council (CNR-IBF) and the European Institute of Design (IED), with Monica Zoppè and Paolo Solcia – will guide the audience into the invisible world of viruses through a model of HIV magnified ten million times. An immersive experience where science, art, and design intersect to creatively and engagingly explore and reinterpret the “viral cosmos.”
