Matter and Vision: Busnelli International meets Maurizio Galimberti
4 – 9 November 2025
From 4 to 9 November, Fondazione Luigi Rovati hosts “Matter and Vision”, an extraordinary synthesis of Italian art, design, and enterprise. The protagonists are Busnelli International, a historic company founded in 1927 and a leader in reconstituted veneer, and Maurizio Galimberti, the master photographer whose unmistakable language of visual fragmentation and recomposition gives new life to matter.
The encounter between Busnelli and Galimberti is no coincidence: both share an approach grounded in transformation. While the photographer fragments and reconstructs the image, Busnelli shapes and reinvents wood, turning it into a blank canvas for architects and designers. The exhibition stems from this conceptual affinity, transforming material into an aesthetic and cultural experience.
In parallel with the exhibition, a biographical book dedicated to Busnelli International will be published. Through an interview with Alessandro Busnelli and a rich iconographic section, the volume retraces the company’s family roots, industrial challenges, and visionary spirit, under the guidance of Alessandro and Alberto Busnelli. It also features an insightful essay by Prof. Stefano Zecchi on the collaboration between Busnelli and Maurizio Galimberti, exploring the unique dialogue between matter and art.
The partnership between Busnelli International and Maurizio Galimberti, together with the publication of the new book, testifies to a forward-looking vision that never forgets its roots. The story of Busnelli is that of a family enterprise that has transformed wood into a contemporary language, opening an ongoing dialogue with design and art.
The exhibition will celebrate a cultural, entrepreneurial, and human journey—showing how matter can become vision, and how Italy continues to express excellence through its enterprises, its creatives, and its masters.
