On Tuesday, December 2nd at 6:00 p.m., Stefano Baia Curioni, Director of the Fondazione Palazzo Te, in conversation with Monica Loffredo, Director of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati, will present the new exhibition project at the Mantua palace.
Curated by Lorenzo Giusti, the project was unveiled in the renovated spaces of the Fruttiere of Palazzo Te. The building has been reopened for the occasion and hosts All That Changes You. Metamorphosis, the new multi-screen film installation by the British artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien. The project was premiered worldwide as part of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of Palazzo Te.
The prestigious monumental complex serves as the setting for the filmic work, featuring actresses Sheila Atim and Gwendoline Christie—both internationally acclaimed—who embody celestial, prophetic, and otherworldly entities, as if emerging directly from the frescoes that adorn the palace walls. The film sequences draw inspiration from themes of metamorphosis, philosophy, anthropology, and ecology within the context of the contemporary world. The work unfolds across multiple locations, including the postmodern Cosmic House of Charles Jencks in London and the forests of the Redwood National and State Park in California.
