Athletes, games, and competitions from 3000 years ago
13 December 2025 | 16:00 – 18:00
A journey spanning three thousand years leads to the discovery of the origins of the Olympics in ancient Greece, the games and competitions practised by the Etruscans and Romans, up to the contemporary age.
During the visit, visitors can observe, through painted vases, depictions of athletes engaged in various sports and the instruments used in competitions. The activity continues with an in-depth look at the links between the athletic events of the past and the modern Olympic Games, highlighting the common ideals that inspire them. The workshop concludes with the creation of a leporello book containing a small catalogue of the competitions, illustrated using stencils and watercolours.
