Four prestigious awards for Fondazione Luigi Rovati and its President Giovanna Forlanelli

Fondazione Luigi Rovati and its President Giovanna Forlanelli have recently received four important awards that highlight their central role in the Italian cultural and scientific landscape.

The Foundation has been awarded the International Archaeology Prize “Premio Zeus – Città di Ugento”, for its investments in research. Over the years, this recognition has established itself as a benchmark event in the world of archaeology, with the aim of raising awareness on the safeguarding of cultural heritage, promoting participatory practices, and spreading continuous learning as a form of active citizenship.

This recognition for the Foundation is complemented by the recent award received at Expo 2025 Osaka, where it was granted the Honourable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro International Award 2025 (click here for more information).

On Saturday, 27 September, in the splendid setting of the Sala Luca Giordano at Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Giovanna Forlanelli received the Rinascimento+ 2025 Award, promoted by the Museo Novecento in collaboration with MUS.E. The award celebrates leading figures in collecting and patronage who have distinguished themselves through their support for art and artists. Alongside Forlanelli, Agnese Barluzzi Valeri, Monica and Federico Ghizzoni, Enea Righi and Mario Scaglia were also honoured, for the vision, generosity and dedication with which they have contributed over time to cultural well-being and artistic experimentation. As highlighted by Sergio Risaliti, Artistic Director of Museo Novecento, “Rinascimento+ speaks of art and artists, of collectors and patrons, of the taste for beauty, of its ability to regenerate and transcend epochs, of the continuous rebirth of love for art and the perpetuation of creativity from generation to generation.”

Finally, Giovanna Forlanelli has been named Ambassador of Greater Milan in the World, as part of the event Thinking and Creating, a Winning Combination, promoted by the Centro Studi Grande Milano. This recognition is awarded to individuals who have been able to transform ideas into concrete projects of value to the community, becoming examples for younger generations. The nomination highlights Forlanelli’s commitment in combining scientific research, publishing, and culture, as a member of the Board of Directors of Rottapharm Biotech, founder of the independent publishing house Johan & Levi, and President of Fondazione Luigi Rovati.

Together with her, Diana Bracco, Lodovico Camozzi, Fiorenzo Marco Galli, Marco Nocivelli, and Veronica Squinzi were also appointed. As recalled by Daniela Mainini, President of Centro Studi Grande Milano: “Milan is the city of doing and doing well, and well done is better than well said. For this reason, the CSGM has always recognised those excellences that serve as examples for younger generations. A true entrepreneur is a person of action, and today we honour women and men who have had the ability to move from words to deeds, generously giving time and effort to the country to see their ideas come to fruition.”
