In Bartolini’s atelier, between society, nature and emotions

Workshop for Children dedicated to the Temporary Exhibition

Reserved for Middle and High Schools

From 25 September 2024 to 16 February 2025, the exhibition "Faces and Allegories" curated by Carlo Sisi is open, dedicated to the sculptures of Lorenzo Bartolini (1777-1850). The works express the Italian Romantic purism of the first half of the 19th century and focus on two themes: allegory and the portrait.

Taking their cue from Bartolini's compositional method that envisaged, during the posing sessions, a conversation between artist and model capable of enriching the portrait with introspective elements, the students, divided into pairs, will portray themselves in profile, working with dialogue on characters and emotions. There will be a final moment of restitution in which the children will reflect on what they have experienced in the workshop.
